About course
The Introduction to Web Technologies course was part of the academic program at the Faculty of Information Technology, University Mediterranean, designed for first-year students. The goal of the course was to provide students with a solid foundation in HTML, CSS, and web development principles, enabling them to create their first functional websites.
Through a combination of theoretical concepts and practical exercises, students had the opportunity to understand how websites work, how to build them, and how to optimize them for different devices.
Target Audience
This training was designed for first-year IT faculty students who were encountering web technologies for the first time.
* This training is the result of years of experience in web development and working with frontend technologies. Over the years, I have gained practical knowledge in HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles, allowing me to share real-world applications and best practices in website development with my students.


Course structure
The course was structured into thematic modules, allowing students to gradually understand web technologies:
- Introduction to Web Development – How do websites work, and what is frontend technology?
- HTML Basics – Structure of web pages, working with tags and elements.
- CSS Styling – Basics of visual design, element layout, and customizing page appearance.
- Responsive Design – Creating websites that adapt to all devices.
- Practical Exercises and Final Project – Independent development of a static website.
Through hands-on examples, students built their first web pages, applying the concepts learned in lectures.
Course organization
- Part of the Academic Program – The course was conducted within University Mediterranean as a mandatory subject for first-year students.
- Lectures and Practical Exercises – Theoretical concepts were immediately applied through hands-on tasks.
- Project-Based Learning Focus – The final project required students to create their own static website.
- Preparation for Advanced Courses – The course laid the foundation for further learning in JavaScript and advanced web technologies.
